Are you looking for a way to enjoy a night at the ballpark without needing to take out a second mortgage? There are several minor league baseball teams in the Chicago area, providing a more interactive and cheaper alternative to the major league teams.

Minor league teams often have fun theme nights, pre- and post-game activities, fireworks, autograph sessions and other promotions that make a night at the (smaller) ballpark attractive to families. Plus, families don’t have to worry about driving and parking in the city.

Here’s a look at minor league teams in Illinois and Northwest Indiana for the 2024 season.
