
The Texas A&M baseball team has earned the American Baseball Coaches Association’s team academic excellence award for the fourth straight season.
Schools had to achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2024-25 academic year. Texas A&M had a 3.28 GPA, a few ticks up from last year’s 3.24 average.
The organization recognizes ABCA member teams at all levels. A&M Consolidated was among 23 Texas high schools honored. This was the second straight year for Consol to earn the award.
Other Southeastern Conference teams honored were Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
Other state schools included were Abilene Christian, Angelo State, Austin College, Baylor, East Texas Baptist, Houston, Lamar, Mary Hardin-Baylor, McMurry Rice, Paris Junior College, Tarleton State, Texas A&M International, Texas-Rio Grande Valley and Weatherford College.
There were 109 Division I schools cited, 87 NCAA Division II schools, 171 NCAA Division III, 37 NAIA schools, 41 junior colleges and 293 high schools.
