DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The University of Minnesota Duluth Athletic Department is inducting nine members into the Hall of Fame in September.

Since the 1990s, UMD has celebrated Bulldog talent through their hall of fame, and they announced the nine newest members on Wednesday.

These nine members make up a group of former Bulldog athletes who drove UMD onto both the national and international stages, respectively.

The Class of 2025 includes Jheri Booker (women’s basketball), Bob Corran (athletic director), Kristi (Duncan) Plante (women’s basketball/softball), Chad Erickson (men’s hockey), Becky Hoffmann (volleyball), Jason Malec, (baseball), Isaac Odim, (football), Liz (Palkie) Kolquist, (Cross Country/Track and Field) and Hanne Sikiö (women’s hockey).

Jheri Booker is an All-American conference player and the defensive player of the year in the same season. She is the first ever to do so.

Bob Corran, the long-time Athletic Director, won three national titles and 55 conference titles throughout his tenure. He also hired two coaches who continue to lead UMD after over two decades, men’s hockey head coach Scott Sandelin and women’s volleyball head coach Jim Boos.

Kristi (Duncan) Plante was a dual-sport athlete in basketball and softball who made her mark in both record books. She is the mom to Max and Zam Plante, who currently play hockey for UMD.

Chad Erickson is an All-American goaltender who went on to play 10 seasons of professional hockey.

Volleyball’s Becky Hoffmann was UMD’s first-ever All-American and the first player in league history to be named MVP in back-to-back seasons. The captain also led the Bulldogs to an NSIC title the year they went 18-0.

Proctor’s Jason Malec, in his senior year the flamethrower led all of Division II in strikeouts. He went onto pitch for the Minnesota Twins in three years.

Isaac Odim, is a two-time national champion, part of both national championship teams, and a three-time All-American. He still holds over half a dozen program records.

Liz (Palkie) Kolquist is a three-time indoor All-American and two-time outdoor All-American who still holds the program record in a pair of relays.

Finland’s Olympian Hanne Sikiö helped lead the Bulldogs to their three consecutive titles in the early 2000s. She still sits fourth all-time in UMD scoring.

The 2025 UMD Athletic Hall of Fame Class will be inducted on Friday, Sept. 26, in a ceremony inside Weber Music Hall.
