Division I

Northeast 2 – North Ridgeville

Participants: 3 Canton GlenOak, 6 St. Ignatius, 13 Lorain, 14 Elyria

Favorites: GlenOak, St. Ignatius

Up next: District champion advances to the Canton Regional

Outlook: Lorain and Elyria are in the same district and face a tough draw with two of Northeast Ohio’s best teams in GlenOak and St. Ignatius. The Golden Eagles and Wildcats are poised for a heavyweight battle in the district final.

Division II

Northeast 2 – Mentor

Participants: 5 Lakewood, 7 Avon Lake, 16 Warren Harding, 22 Solon

Favorite: Lakewood

Up next: District champion advances to the Gates Mills Regional

Outlook: Avon Lake is a dangerous team heading into the postseason. The Shoremen have played as good as anyone in the past month and could give Lakewood a challenge. This looks to be a fun district as Warren Harding is no cakewalk in the park either.

Northeast 6 – Tri-C

Participants: 1 Amherst, 14 Wadsworth, 17 Riverside, 29 John Adams

Favorite: Amherst

Up next: District champion advances to the Oberlin Regional

Outlook: Amherst has been Division II’s top-ranked team all season long, and this is it’s first chance to prove why. The Comets are the heavy favorite to win this district and could get a rematch with North Ridgeville in a regional semifinal.

Northeast 7 – Jefferson

Participants: 2 North Ridgeville, 12 Green, 18 Avon, 23 North Olmsted, 24 Shaker Heights

Favorite: North Ridgeville

Up next: District champion advances to the Oberlin Regional

Outlook: Although North Ridgeville is the favorite to make it out and face Amherst, the Rangers have their work cut out for them. Avon eliminated Ridgeville last year as a lower seed and the two teams split the season series this year. This season hasn’t went how the Eagles imagined, but they’ve proved they can pull upsets in this setting. Avon’s district semifinal against Green is the game to watch as the Bulldogs are a major threat to win this district.

Division III

Northeast 3 – Canton

Top seeds: 2 Wooster, 7 Alliance, 14 Uniontown Lake, 17 Louisville

Other area teams: 32 Midview, 34 Olmsted Falls

Favorite: Wooster

Up next: District champion advances to the Hudson Regional

Northeast 5 – Brunswick

Top seeds: 4 Medina Highland, 10 Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary, 15 Chardon, 16 Westlake

Favorites: Highland, St. Vincent-St. Mary

Up next: District champion advances to the Avon Regional

Outlook: Highland is deservedly the top seed in this district, but the Hornets will have their work cut out for them. A potential regular-season rematch awaits against Westlake. The Demons pulled the upset in that one and are a sleeper team here.

Northeast 6 – Tri-C

Top seeds: 3 Akron Hoban, 12 Revere, 13 Rocky River

Favorite: Akron Hoban

Up next: District champion advances to the Avon Regional

Outlook: Rocky River is peaking at the right time and playing at this level is what the Pirates will need to win a district title. Hoban is the definitive favorite here, but Rocky River or Revere could present trouble in the district final.

Division IV

Northeast 1 – Lorain

Top seeds: 3 Norton, 7 Hubbard, 16 Lutheran West, 17 West Geauga

Other area teams: 19 Brookside

Favorite: Norton

Up next: District champion advances to the Canton Regional

Northeast 2 – Lorain

Top seeds: 4 Field, 10 Marlington, 12 Canfield

Other area teams: 20 Firelands

Favorite: Field

Up next: District champion advances to the Canton Regional

Northeast 5 – Louisville

Top seeds: 2 NDCL, 9 Benedictine, 15 Bay

Other area teams: 29 Elyria Catholic

Favorite: NDCL

Up next: District champion advances to the Bowling Green Regional

Northwest 3 – Willard

Top seeds: 1 Sandusky Perkins, 2 Clear Fork, 3 Bellevue, 4 Shelby

Other area teams: 5 Vermilion

Favorite: Perkins

Up next: District champion advances to the Bowling Green Regional

Outlook: Vermilion is the only state-ranked team in this district but the Sailors face a tough road as the No. 5 seed. It starts with a sectional final game at Bellevue on May 21.

Division V

Northeast 1 – Struthers

Top seeds: 4 Poland Seminary, 7 Norwayne, 10 Tuslaw, 12 Chippewa

Other area teams: 19 Wellington

Favorites: Poland Seminary, Norwayne

Up next: District champion advances to the Massillon Regional

Northeast 2 – Mentor

Top seeds: 2 Keystone, 6 Cardinal Mooney, 8 South Range, 13 Cortland Lakeview

Favorite: Keystone

Up next: District champion advances to the Massillon Regional

Outlook: Keystone is no doubt a regional-caliber team, but this will be anything but easy for the Wildcats. Cardinal Mooney or South Range could await in the district title game. The good news for Keystone is it has a bye and will host a district semi before that.

Northeast 4 – Niles

Top seeds: 3 Wooster Triway, 5 Canton Central Catholic, 15 Ravenna Southeast

Other area teams: 22 Fairview, 28 Clearview

Favorites: Triway, Canton Central Catholic

Up next: District champion advances to the Massillon Regional

Division VI

Northeast 2 – Gilmour

Top seeds: 1 Lake Center Christian, 9 Grand Valley, 12 East Palestine, 17 Rittman

Other area teams: 24 Oberlin

Favorite: Lake Center Christian

Up next: District champion advances to the Louisville Regional

Northeast 4 – Tri-C

Top seeds: 4 Hanoverton United, 8 Columbia, 11 Rootstown, 13 Cuyahoga Heights

Favorite: Hanoverton United

Up next: District champion advances to the Louisville Regional

Outlook: This district is wide open. Columbia is right in the hunt to win the district title but could also lose in a sectional final. The Raiders could potentially have to beat three of the other four top-seeded teams in the district to win it.

Division VII

Northeast 3 – Tri-C

Top seeds: 1 St. John, 3 Andrews Osborne, 7 Lowellville, 11 Medina Christian

Other area teams: 21 Open Door

Favorites: St. John, Andrews Osborne

Up next: District champion advances to the Oberlin Regional
