KAREEM Abdul-Jabbar's latest public appearance has sparked concern among fans.

The basketball great was at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California for a special occasion.

Abdul-Jabbar, 78, gave a speech on Jackie Robinson Day.

He was seen arriving at the event in a wheelchair.

The NBA icon is able to walk but underwent hip surgery last year.

But fans were still sad to see him being wheeled in rather than on his own two feet.

"Didn’t know he was in a wheelchair, but I guess years of playing basketball will do that to you," one said.

Another posted on X, "Damn, bro getting old."

While a third commented, "Tough to see the big fella in rough shape but glad he’s still with us."

Abdul-Jabbar is the second highest scorer in NBA history.

He won six NBA titles during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Abdul-Jabbar was also a six-time MVP and two-time scoring champion.

The Lakers great gave his thoughts on Robinson ahead of the Dodgers' game against the Colorado Rockies.

The MLB celebrated Jackie Robinson Day once again on the date he made his debut.

Robinson broke the color barrier in baseball, becoming the first black player in the MLB.

“People who were interested in that knew that one significant aspect of segregation had just been eliminated, and Black Americans were proud of it,” Abdul-Jabbar said via MLB.com.

“My mom didn’t know much about the game.

"But because of all the attention that Jackie got, we started listening to the games on the radio when I was about two years old.

"And it was very important to me that Jackie’s team won.”

All players wore the No. 42 on their jersey as a tribute to Robinson.

He was a six-time All-Star and World Series champion in the MLB.

Robinson played his entire career for the Brooklyn Dodgers, who later relocated to LA.
