Turner Ashby softball, baseball defend home field in Fort Defiance wins
BRIDGEWATER, Va. (WHSV) - Turner Ashby baseball and softball defend their home fields Monday evening with wins over Fort Defiance.
Softball: Turner Ashby 10, Fort Defiance 3
After allowing a three-run first inning, the Knights responded quickly plating six runs in the bottom of the first to retake control including key RBI’s from both Madison Aderholz and Laela Shank. With today’s win, the Knights win strike advances to three games, moving to 4-3, 2-0 on the season.
Baseball: Turner Ashby 4, Fort Defiance 1
Turner Ashby didn’t need many hits to manufacture runs. Fort Defiance pitcher Tripp Hanger didn’t allow a hit in the first three innings despite being facing a 3-0 defecit. The Knights would score first via a throwing error that allowed Thomas Knight to score. A fielders choice would bring in the second run of the inning. Turner Ashby would tack on their third run in the third inning by a wild pitch, bringing in Knight for the second time in the afternoon. Turner Ashby continues their undefeated start to the season, moving to 7-0, 2-0 on the season.
