Catcher Tucker Moore hit a three-run home run and designated hitter John Simmons hit a grand slam as the Liberty Flames eased past the Virginia Cavaliers 10-3 Tuesday evening at Disharoon Park.

Liberty never trailed in the contest as Moore, who had two hits in the game, gave the visiting Flames a 3-0 lead with his fourth home run of the season in the second inning. Simmond followed in the third inning by blasting a grand slam over the center field wall, his first home run of the year, to push Liberty's advantage to 7-2.

The Flames bullpen handcuffed the Cavaliers throughout the contest, combining to allow one run on three hits over the final seven innings.

Left fielder Nick Barone had three hits and drove in two runs, while right fielder Camden Troyer had two hits, an RBI and two runs scored for the Flames.
