Baseball: Bullard defeats Palestine, 6-1, to remain undefeated in district

BULLARD – Bullard remained at the top of the pack in the District 17-4A standings after downing visiting Palestine, 6-1 Tuesday night in Bullard.

Bullard led 3-1 after one inning of play.

The Panthers (19-6, 7-0) were sparked by Kage Korenek going 2-3 at the plate with two RBI and a home run and two RBI off the bat of Ty Rigsby.

Tate Wynne and Dylan Fowler added a base hit and an RBI each for the Panthers, who are scheduled to travel to Palestine for a 7 p.m. game Thursday evening.

The victory was Bullard’s ninth straight.

The pitching win went to Ethan Foster.

Foster worked 5.1 frames and allowed one run, which was earned, off of four hits. He walked five and fanned seven.

Colt Medders went 3-4, which was highlighted by a double, for the Wildcats (14-8-1, 3-4).
