The Baseball Champions League Americas 2025 will experience its sudden-death round today, as the second and third place finishers in each group will face off for two tickets to the semifinals.

Las Tunas, Cuba.- Yesterday, hosts and favorites Mexico City Diablos Rojos and the Kane County Cougars of the American Association of Professional Baseball (AAPB) secured their spots in that round with victories over Nicaragua's Chinandega Tigers and Las Tunas Lumberjacks, respectively.

These results determined the top and second place finishers in both keys of the competition, as the Puerto Ricans Florida Titans (Group A) and the Curaçao Santa María Pirates (Group B) had already lost twice to their rivals.

Friday's qualifying matches will feature Tigers-Pirates in the first game, and Lumberjacks- Titans at 9:30 p.m. (Cuban time).

After yesterday's costly defeat to the Americans in a 34-run batting duel, the green and red squad will have to do the homework against a Puerto Rican team that is a priori the weakest ot the tournament, although the Titans will have the advantage of having already played at night.

Nevertheless, the three-time champions of the Cuban National Series will be out axes all set on the Alfredo Harp Helú grounds, in search of a victory that will allow them to continue dreaming of Sunday's final and the possibility of lifting the trophy.
