DUBOIS — The DuBois baseball team coupled a strong start by Grady Galiczynski with a balanced offensive attack to upend visiting Bradford, 8-1, Wednesday afternoon at Showers Field.
Galiczynski went the first five inning to get the win, allowing just one earned run on five hits while striking out seven and walking a pair.
He was followed on the mound by the duo of Jonathan Reed and Alex Sago, who tossed a scoreless sixth and seventh, respectively. Sago struck out the side in order to finish off the win.
That trio was backed by an offensive attack that churned out 12 hits, with eight different Beavers finding the hit column.
Trey Wingard led the way, going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. Tyler Chamberlin, Noah Farrell and Boston Graham also had two hits each. Graham added a double and RBI.
The Beavers jumped out to a 5-0 lead after four innings, scoring single runs in the first and second.
Wingard got DuBois on the board in the bottom of the first with a double with one away that scored Samson Deeb, who had draw a walk. Chamberlin added a run-scoring single in the second thayt brought home Bryson Billock, who had led off the frame with a walk.
DuBois the broke the game open a little in the fourth with three more runs.
Talon Hodge led off the inning with a walk before Bradford got a pair of outs. However, Wingard started a little two-out lighting with a double to center that plated Hode.
Farrell followed with a single to right that saw Wingard score when the ball was misplayed in right field. Farrell wound up at second on that miscue. Madix Clark capped the inning with a double that chaed in Farrell to make it 5-0.
Bradford got a run back in the fifth, but DuBois responded with two runs in the bottom of the fifth and one last run in the sixth to set the final.
Graham scored the first of those fifth inning runs when he doubled home Billock, who had walked. Graham then scored to put the Beavers up 7-1 when Hodge reached on an error.
Walker Thomas finished off the scoring in the sixth when he tripled to center and scored on an error on the play.
DuBois, now 4-1, is back in action Friday at home against Lakeview.

DUBOIS — DuBois Central Catholic made it four shutouts in four games to start the season Wednesday as the Cardinals blanked Kane, 8-0, at Stern Family Field.
The DCC duo of Brayden Fox and Carter Himes combined on a one-hitter.
Fox started and went the first 5 1/3 innings, allowing the Wolves’ one hit while striking out six and walking one in earning the win. Himes took over in the sixth and tossed 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. He struck out a pair.
That duo was backed by an offense that scored eight runs on 10 hits.
The Cardinals got all the offense they needed with three runs in the third. Blake Pisarcik tripled in the first two of those runs before scoring himself on Himes groundout.
Central Catholic added two insurance runs in the fifth before scoring three more times in the sixth.
Cardinal Trent Miller had a RBI single in the fifth, while Brayden Zatsick added a RBI groundout. Pisarcik added a runp-scoring single in the sixth, with Miller plating DCC’s final two runs on his second hit of the game.
Pisarcik led the DCC attack, going 3-for-4 with the triple, three RBIs and two runs scored. Miller was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
The Cardinals (4-0) are right back in action today at home against Brookville.

BROCKWAY — Johnsonburg jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second inning at Brockway Wednesday afternoon, but the Rovers used a late surge to come away with a 14-4, 5-inning mercy rule win for their first victory of the season.
That Johnsonburg lead proved short-lived as the Rovers scored once in the bottom of the second before grabbing the lead with four more runs in the third. It was all Rovers from there as they scored three runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth to end the game in walk-off fashion via the 10-run mercy rule.
Brockway pounded out 13 hits in the win. Caleb Daugherty led the way with a 3-for-4 day and had a double and three runs scored. teammates Eric Decker, Ben Bash, Eric Lindemuth and Zayden Faith all had two hits a piece, with Faith ripping a triple as part of a five RBI day.
Lindemuth and Raiden Craft each knocked in a pair of runs.
Daugherty was the beneficiary of all that offense as he got the win on the mound. He tossed 4 2/3 innings, allowing four runs, two earned, on five hits while striking out five and walking seven.
Parker Calla had a RBI single for the Rams, while Aiden Demay and Rocco Delhunty each had a hit and RBI.
Brockway (1-4) hosts Clarion-Limestone on Friday.
