Following a tough loss in Game 2 on Saturday, Penn State took on Michigan in the deciding game of the series.

Michigan defeated Penn State 6-5 in the series finale.

Logan Olson took the mound for the Nittany Lions, entering Sunday's contest with a 6.75 ERA.

The Nittany Lions wasted no time getting on the board, as a throwing error by the Wolverines’ third baseman scored Weingartner. Jack Porter followed with an RBI double, giving the Nittany Lions a 2-0 lead.

Logan Olson kept the Wolverines scoreless through the first two frames.

The Nittany Lions added to their lead in the third inning after another Michigan error. An RBI single from Porter and a triple from Cole Wagner grew the lead to 5-0.

After giving up a solo shot to Greg Pace Jr. in the top of the third, Olson was pulled with runners at first and second with no outs. He was replaced by freshman Harrison Lollin.

The Wolverines tied the game with a two-RBI double from Colby Turner, an RBI groundout from Jeter Ybarra and a solo shot from Cole Caruso.

The Nittany Lions went down one-two-three in the away half of the fourth.

Matthew VanOstenbridge took the mound in the bottom of the fourth. He gave up a double but got out of the inning unscathed.

A diving play by Mitch Voit at second helped Wolverines pitcher Kurt Barr get through his fifth inning of work scoreless.

Ben DeMell took the mound in the bottom of the fifth. He gave up a double and a walk but kept the game tied entering the sixth.

Barr added two strikeouts in the top of the 6th to keep the contest tied. DeMell had runners on first and second, but the Wolverines failed to take the lead in the bottom half of the sixth.

The Nittany Lions had runners on first and second but failed to capitalize, as the score remained 5-5 entering the bottom of the seventh.

The Wolverines sparked a two-out rally, which was capped by an RBI double from Jonathan Kim to make the score 6-5. Penn State’s Dimond Loosli took the mound and got the last out of the frame to avoid further damage.

Max Debiec took the mound for Michigan in the eighth, holding a one-run lead. Loosli denied any insurance for the Wolverines, keeping the game 6-5 entering the final frame.

Debiec closed out the win for Michigan.

The Nittany Lions will face Bucknell at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
