Baseball talent in Macomb County is, once again, off the charts — but we’re going to do our best to chart them regardless.

Below is a list of 25 of the best baseball players for Macomb County teams heading into the 2025 season. With so much talent in the area, it’s inevitable that some great players would be left off, so if you don’t see your player here, don’t take it as a slight.

The top 10 players are ranked in order (or at least attempted to be), whereas the final 15 are not.

1. Ty Finkbeiner, senior, Anchor Bay. The two-way standout didn’t earn a Michigan scholarship for nothing – at 6-foot-7, Finkbeiner hit .352 with eight extra base hits last year but made his name on the mound with a 1.40 ERA with 57 Ks in 40 innings.

2. Evan Kavalick, senior, Dakota. The reigning all-state catcher tore the cover off the ball last year, hitting .436 with a 1.019 OPS and 30 RBIs for the Cougars.

3. Isaiah Domey, senior, Anchor Bay. There might not be a more dangerous bat in Macomb County than the Michigan State commit. Domey recently clocked a max exit velocity of 104.7 MPH but has good speed, too, as evidenced by his dominance as the Tars’ running back last football season.

4. Luke DeMasse, senior, Dakota. Is DeMasse the most polished pitcher in Macomb County? His low-to-mid 90s fastball and 2500 spin rate off-speed offerings suggest he just might be.

5. Anthony Bonnetti, senior, Richmond. Bonnetti returns a near-.500 batting average to the Blue Devils lineup along with 21 RBIs and 20 stolen bases from last season, in which he earned BWAC Player of the Year honors.

6. JJ Jurczyk, senior, De La Salle. Call him Mr. Pilot at this point – Jurczyk is not only leadoff hitter and projected top pitcher for new head coach Dan Cimini, but he also helped lead them to a soccer state championship last season.

7. Carson Sweet, senior, Stevenson. Not every team is blessed to have a catcher with immense offensive upside, but that’s what Sweet brings. He led the Titans with a .393 average last season.

8. Ben Green, senior, Chippewa Valley. With the Schuster cabinet finally empty at Chippewa Valley, now is Green’s opportunity to step into the bona fide No. 1 role for the Big Reds. He’ll play for the Oakland Golden Grizzlies after his prep run.

9. Jake Leonard, senior, Stevenson. This Titan doesn’t need a giant frame to thump the ball – a Wright State commit, Leonard has been a fixture in Stevenson’s lineup and has provided incredible consistency at shortstop.

10. Dominic Bonnetti, sophomore, Richmond. The younger Bonnetti actually had more hits than his brother last season with 42, stealing 20 bases and finishing with a .382 batting average as a freshman.

11. Alex Pierce, senior, Stevenson.

12. Ryan Petrovitch, senior, Dakota.

13. Donovan Erfourth, senior, Eisenhower.

14. Jaret Hill, senior, Armada.

15. Jadon Ford, senior, Dakota

16. Jack Miller, senior, Utica.

20. Dylan Isrow, senior, Ford.

21. Cooper Meadows, senior, Romeo.
