2025 Tokyo Series | Here's what you need to know

The 2025 Major League Baseball season is getting underway during the 2025 Tokyo Series.

The Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers will face off in Japan on March 18 & 19.

Here's everything you need to know about the Tokyo Series.

Where are the games being played?

The 2025 Tokyo Series will b e played at the Tokyo Dome.

According to MLB.com, the indoor stadium opened in 1988, and serves as the home for the Yomiuri Giants and the location of the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.

The stadium has played host to a variety of events, including MLB regular season games, World Baseball Classic games, NFL exhibition contests, professional boxing matches, concerts, and more.

How can you watch the games?

Both of the Tokyo Series games featuring the Dodgers and Cubs will be broadcast nationally.

FOX45 will be airing Game 1 on March 18 at 6:10 a.m., and FS1 will take Game 2 on March 19 at 6:10 a.m.

Do the Dodgers-Cubs feature any Japanese-born players?

Both the Dodgers and the Cubs are ripe with Japanese stars, and this series will serve as a mini-showcase of their talents.

Three-time MVP Shohei Ohtani will begin his second season with the Dodgers, and is expected to serve as the team's designated hitter.

Countrymen Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki are expected to start each of the games, respectively.

Yamamoto enters his second season with Los Angeles, while Sasaki will be making his team and Major League debut during the Tokyo Series.

On the other side, the Cubs feature slugger Seiya Suzuki and lefthanded starter Shota Imanaga, who starred during his debut MLB campaign in 2024.

Its expected that Imanaga will start one of the games for Chicago, as well.
