Booker High School Baseball Team Getting Better Every Game This Season
Tornadoes Baseball Team Wants to Be Great
SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - The Booker High School Tornadoes varsity baseball team is getting better during every game, meeting, and practice. Booker’s Head Coach is Pat Sweeney. He wants to help make Booker a very good baseball program all over again.
“Winning comes with doing things the right way. So I think we have been process oriented this year and we are starting to see the dividends of that but we got a long way to go but we want to make sure our process continues to go on the right trajectory and we will see where it takes us,” said Pat Sweeney.
The Booker Tornadoes (5-5) are undefeated in their district games with a record of (3-3). Booker student-athletes say they can see the positive direction this team is heading in.
“This years team got a lot more discipline so we are hoping to make something happen with that.” said Earl Bethel
Players say off the field, in the classrooms, and around Booker High School the baseball team is close nit like a family.
“These guys are great! I come out here every single day and they never fail to put a smile on my face and we get to play baseball doing it so it’s a great deal,” said Kennedy Cole.
According to Coach Pat Sweeney the Tornadoes have seven freshman on their roster this season.
