ESSEX —The Rotary Club of Essex announced that the 39th Rotary All-Star Hockey Classic is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Essex Skating Facility.
Men and women in their senior years are selected from high schools across Vermont to participate in this event. The women’s game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. and the men’s game will commence at 6 p.m. Tickets for this event are $10 per person and the price includes admission to both games. Tickets can be purchased online.
All of the net proceeds that are raised from this event are used by the Rotary Club of Essex to support local food pantries, provide winter coats for children in need, fund scholarships for local students, and to support a number of health and environmental initiatives locally and internationally. VBCA honors
WINDSOR — The Vermont Basketball Coaches Association announced its Boys Outstanding Underclassmen, who will be honored at the VBCA Senior All-Star games on March 22 at Windsor High School.
The Outstanding Underclassmen honor is replacing the Dream Dozen. The VBCA Executive Board voted to honor athletes separately by division so more athletes could be recognized.
The Dream Dozen honored 12 athletes combined for Division III and IV and 12 combined for Division I and II, while Outstanding Underclassmen honors eight athletes in each division.
