AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Caprock Longhorns defeated the Palo Duro Dons by a score of 12-3 on Tuesday afternoon.

It was a relatively quiet game up until the top of the fifth inning, when the Longhorns exploded for seven runs. They’d score in every inning thereafter, as well.

Caprock was led by Derek Paz, Adrian Morales and Dezmen Molina, each of whom logged three RBIs on the day. Paz was spectacular in particular, hitting 3/4 with two runs to add to his contributions. On the mound, Matthew Hulen pitched six innings with seven strikeouts, allowing two runs.

The Dons were led by Charlie Love and Cikri Martinez’s two combined RBIs. Martinez threw 4.1 innings on the mound, with two strikeouts and five run allowed.

The two-game series concludes on Friday at HODGETOWN at 7:00 p.m.
