BOOKSHELF BINGO – June 1 through August 31

Every two weeks, registered readers will have the chance to win a $25 gift card to Target or Trader Joe’s, and each item you log during the entire program enters you to win one of two grand prizes. The Book Lover’s prize features a $75 gift card to Riverstone Books, a “book nerd” puzzle, and other literary goodies. The Picnic in the Park prize includes an Igloo cooler bag, Yeti mugs, a DiBella’s gift card, and five pool passes to any Allegheny County Parks pool. READ BEYOND THE BEATEN PATH – June 6 to July 31

Summer reading is back with an outdoorsy new theme with virtual and in-person activities! Beginning June 6 and through July 31, go to northlandlibrary.beanstack.org to register for this summer reading program for those ages birth to 18. Hiking through the library, you will see some wonders of nature, such as: find the Moose on the Loose, guess how many items are in the jar, guess which book has been shredded, and the Eye Spy tank! Campers ages 3 to 12 and counselors-in-training ages 13 to 18 can take part in in-person programming! Please note that some of these activities will require registration, but not sleeping bags. MONEY MANAGEMENT FOR WOMEN ON THEIR OWN

STEEL CITY SHAKESPEARE – An Acting Camp for students in grades 4 through 8

June 13 through 17 from 10 a.m. to noon

With Shakespeare as a starting point, Jeffery Chips from Steel City Shakespeare, will be here to teach you some finer points of stage acting. From inflection to swordplay, you will touch on many skills that actors need to know. Pre-registration is required and limited. Please register only if you will attend all five sessions.

American Girl Reporter Kit Kittredge is on the job covering the team in this radio style program about baseball, Kit, and the famous Abbott and Costello skit “Who’s on First?” All participants will have the opportunity to play a part in the radio show, make some crafts and enjoy good ‘ole American baseball snacks in this one-hour program for children in grades one through five. There is an impostor among us, and they’re bringing down the ship! Can you figure out who’s sabotaging you and finish your tasks in time? DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: ROYAL RESCUE

Legolas Dorian Storm is in trouble. He volunteered himself to rescue Princess Faraday but is in way over his head. Can you help him reclaim his honor and rescue the princess? A group of refugees is fleeing their hometown, but they’ve been denied passage on the ferry. The only way to get them there is a dangerous pathway through a monster-infested body of water. Bring a level four character to escort them to safety! Registration is required for this program for ages 12 to 18. Please register for one session, not both.
