A company which makes cricket, baseball and tennis simulators for customers around the world is expanding with help from Invest in Nottingham.

BatFast has relocated to a bigger site on the Colwick Quays Business Park, in Nottingham, to help it meet growing demand for its sports and leisure tech following three years of growth.

The new offices will help it speed up new product development, testing and assembly so that it can service its clients worldwide.

The space will also be home to a BatFast batting lane, for customers to improve their batting skills and which will be available for community events with organisations such as Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club and local universities.

The business has strong East Midlands links having been founded in Loughborough, while Co-founder Runish Gudhka studied at the University of Nottingham.

BatFast technology allows different sports to be brought to life in the same space so that cricket can be quickly switched to baseball, with dynamic graphics and live scoring, personalized to suit different ages and abilities.

Its proprietary technology can be switched from social competition to one-to-one training while its mission is to "drive increased participation and access to sport globally, through the use of technology".

The business recently celebrated a milestone of 5 million balls being played across its technologies worldwide.

BatFast chief operating officer Navdeep Sethi said: “Nottingham is central to BatFast’s growth as the sports and technology infrastructure are excellent.

“With world-famous sports teams, international sporting venues, excellent infrastructure links and two world-class universities, Nottingham was the natural location from which to grow our business.”

Nigel Rhodes, former-Nottingham Panthers and Great Britain international, and owner of Colwick Quays Business Park, said: “I love working with the BatFast team.

“It was such a smooth transaction and I am excited to be part of their growth and future.”

The move has been supported by the team at Invest in Nottingham, including business expansion specialist James Mann.

Mr Man said: “We’re delighted to be able to support local firms with their international growth plans, especially when they're creating exciting and skilled job opportunities for people who reside in and around Nottingham.”
