With the baseball season on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, Rockies players are finding a variety of ways to keep themselves — and fans — entertained.
Kyle Freeland takes the cake for best distraction honors during this baseball-less time, thanks to his golf trick-shot video he posted on his social media this week. The highlight compilation features the southpaw showing off his chipping skills inside the house by hitting a ping pong ball into a red Solo cup.
Meanwhile, Charlie Blackmon is keeping us all smiling with photos of Ozzy, he and his wife Ashley’s new puppy. The black lab made its Instagram debut last weekend, eliciting comments such as “I just wanna smooch your pup toniiiiiight.”

And to round things out, let’s give David Dahl props for entertaining us via his participation in the “MLB The Show” Players’ League — even if his season went off the rails. After Dahl predicted a playoff berth, the all-star outfielder went 6-23 to finish last in the National League West.
In the wake of the disastrous season, Dahl thanked the fans and promptly announced his retirement from the video game. Which is good news, because it means more time for him to plot about swings with fellow baseball obsessive Nolan Arenado — who penned a fantastic essay for ESPN on how he is coping with life without the game.
I’ve made the difficult decision to hang up my controller. 🎮 After going 6-23 in the #MLBPlayersLeague, I’ll be retiring from MLB The Show. Thanks to the fans for your unwavering support. pic.twitter.com/AtY5MhJ6Y5
