Baseball pitching ace Zack Greinke lists Studio City Craftsman for $7.55 million

Major League Baseball pitcher and former Dodger Zack Greinke has put his two-structure compound in Studio City on the market for $7.55 million.

Set on a leafy foothills lot of more than an acre, the gated Craftsman estate was designed by architect Ray Keller and designer Dixon Chang to evoke the works of seminal Arts and Crafts movement figures Charles and Henry Greene.

Completed in 2012, the three-story house boasts a wide roof, deep eaves with rafter tails, and tapered stone columns that are emblematic of the style that began in the late 19th century. Custom stained-glass clerestories filter natural light in the three-story entry. The custom millwork and pitched ceilings are done in maple, as are the double-hung and leaded glass casement windows.

The 10,015 square feet of interior space includes a home theater, a gym, an office and a receiving room with a wet bar on the main floor. The second level is largely devoted to open-plan space and has an open-plan chef’s kitchen, living and family rooms and a dining room with pocketing wood doors. There are five fireplaces with stone surrounds.

Designed for indoor-outdoor living, nearly each of the home’s seven bedrooms have doors that open to the outside. The top-floor master suite comprises eight rooms including his and hers bathrooms, a receiving room and an office/nursery.

From the main residence, a wooden bridge crosses under an oak tree before reaching the one-bedroom guesthouse. A living area, kitchen and bonus/game room complete the guest residence.

A swimming pool, putting green, outdoor shower and citrus trees make up the backyard. The custom pool features two tiers, a spa and a waterfall feature.

It also has four garage spaces, a motor court and off-street parking that can accommodate as many as 15 vehicles.

Susanna Nagy of Keller Williams Realty holds the listing.

Greinke, 34, is a four-time all-star and a one-time Cy Young award-winner. The former Dodger (2013-2015) went 17-7 for Arizona last season, helping the Diamondbacks reach the National League Division Series for the first time in a decade.

He bought the house five years ago for $4.575 million, The Times previously reported.
