Gang of men with baseball bats attacked vehicle at Northampton petrol station

A gang of four men "all wearing dark clothing and carrying baseball bats" attempted to steal a car at a petrol station in Northampton.

The incident happened at the BP garage in Harborough Road about 9pm on Friday, December 8, when the victim arranged for a vehicle he hires out to be collected by a new customer.

As he waited in a bay next to the car wash, a silver Mercedes C Class blocked him in and four men got out and demanded he get out of his car.

The victim drove away instead but as he did so, the offenders attacked his vehicle with baseball bats, causing damage to the rear windscreen.

A police spokeswoman said: "The men are described as three black men and one white man, all wearing dark clothing and carrying baseball bats."
