Antoine Kelly

Stats: 3-2, 42.1 IP, 0.66 ERA, 98 K, 19 BB

2018 highlights: Kelly was named the Central Suburban League Pitcher of the Year and was picked in the 13th round of the MLB draft by the San Diego Padres. “He was consistently throwing in the low 90s throughout the season,” Maine East coach Ronald Clark said. The 6-foot-5, 175-pound Des Plaines resident had a stretch of 26.1 scoreless innings this season and is a Central Arizona College recruit.

Bryce Moskiewicz

Lyons

C, Senior

Stats: .413 BA, 1.007 OPS, 38 hits, 17 RBIs

2018 highlights: The 5-9, 192-pound Moskiewicz showed great discipline at the plate, as he only struck out six times in 118 plate appearances. He was good behind the plate, too. “His ability to handle pitchers and understand the game is what set him apart,” Lyons coach Kevin Diete said of the Pittsburgh recruit from La Grange.

Stats: .375 BA, 1.120 OPS, 3 HRs, 24 RBIs; 5-2, 2.27 ERA

2018 highlights: A 6-8 left-handed pitcher, Sanchez also contributed at first base and at the plate. The Mundelein resident struck out 61 over 37 innings and will pitch next year at Arkansas.

Cade O’Neal

Stats: .350 BA, .483 OBP, 33 runs scored, 14 SB

2018 highlights: The Huskies’ team MVP, O’Neal made an impact at the plate with his power and speed. The Oklahoma recruit also solidified the middle infield and had a 0.87 ERA in eight relief appearances.

Caleb Durbin

Lake Forest

Stats: .362 BA, 1.101 OPS, 12 2Bs, 7 3Bs, 19 RBIs, 41 runs scored

2018 highlights: Durbin did everything for the Scouts. He was a captain, team MVP, an all-conference shortstop and voted the school’s top male athlete. He is Lake Forest’s career leader in hits, runs, triples and stolen bases and will play next year at Washington University in St. Louis.

Riley Rundquist

Buffalo Grove

3B, Junior

Stats: .344 BA, .496 OBP, 6 HRs, 35 RBIs, 16 SB

2018 highlights: An Arlington Heights resident and one of the offensive catalysts for the Class 4A sectional champion Bison, Rundquist is one of the area’s top prospects for 2019. “His ability to drive the baseball is something you rarely see in a high school player,” coach Tim Miller said.

Stats: .447 BA, 31 RBIs, 15 SB; 31 IP, 2.53 ERA

2018 highlights: An all-conference selection and team captain, Gussis had a 25-game hitting streak during the season. He will play baseball at Northeastern.

Bryce Hellgeth

Stats: .398 BA, .593 SLG, 10 2B, 3 HRs; 49 IP, 53 K

2018 highlights: Hellgeth was the starting pitcher last season in the Class 3A state title game. The 6-2, 205-pound Arlington Heights resident assembled another strong season by playing all over the field. He’s a Dayton recruit.

Stats: .371 BA, 1.086 OPS, 5 HRs, 24 RBIs, 13 SB; 21 IP, 1.67 ERA

2018 highlights: Mercurio hit a walk-off home run in the Red Devils’ season-opening win against Hoffman Estates. The 6-2, 170-pound Hinsdale resident will attempt to walk on at Notre Dame.

Clark Elliott

Barrington

SS/DH, Junior

Stats: .400 BA, 1.103 OBP, 32 RBIs, 39 runs scored, 14 SB

2018 highlights: One of the area’s best hitters, Elliott led the Broncos in RBIs and runs scored. “Excellent bat speed,” coach Pat Wire said. “Very difficult to sneak a fastball by him.” The 6-foot, 170-pound Barrington resident is a Michigan recruit.
